Ode to the Magnolia | There was a woman Who loved a magnolia tree Problem was We could not see Her brother said I can't see enough I don't want holly I don't want fluff Her sister said CHOP IT DOWN We must have a view It must be BROWN! Poor Queenie said LET IT GROW There are figs to harvest Blackberries to sew I love horsetails And Scotch broom They look so beautiful From my room And Joanie said I love the squirrels With all their nuts Who needs the pearls? Then Anna said She did not know Why keep the house I'd rather go The brother won It all came down Gone are the weeds Gone are the holly crowns The men they came They made a pit They missed the grapevine Must have forgotten it Their brother with Agent Orange Finished the deed He killed the camilla He trashed that weed And thus we say Enjoy the view Instead of green We now see blue ……………………………………………………………………………………………… |
