. | ' Twas the night before Christmas And all through the house Every creature was stirring Even the mouse Margaret was making The oatcakes and bread After her children Were tucked into bed Anna was praying For Jesus to come Hoping Gods work Would finely be done Bob and Maureen Were talking to Joe Their wonderful kid As all of us know Dad was itching Behind his year Worrying about The coming new year Steve was hanging The tinsel and lights As Joan was rocking Their baby goodnight Rob Gascoigne and Richie Were talking again Concerning the Masons And all of their sins Uncle David was eating And giving advice About dating women And choosing a wife Mother was making The cinnamon buns Preparing for Christmas And all of the fun The day was over It came to an end Yuletide greetings We all did send Now all was quiet As we turned out the lights Waiting for Santa To come that night Then Julie and Jane Jumped out of their bed Pulled off the covers The sheets and the spread They raced to the window By Davids bed Threw open the curtains And Julie said I want to see Santa And Rudolph tonight Lets look for the sleigh With all of its lights They looked out the window For the skies to clear They waited and waited Till midnight drew near Then over the lake Santa appeared With his miniature sleigh And seven reindeer Julie and Jane Jumped up in delight Knowing that Santa Was coming tonight Ritchie exploded To bed, do you hear? Santa is coming With his seven reindeer But out of the bedroom Dashed Julie and Jane Into the yard And the pouring rain To the top of the roof The reindeer flew With a sleigh full of toys And Santa too And then in a twinkling Jane heard on the roof The prancing and pawing Of each little hoof There was Santa and Dancer Prancer and Vixen Dasher and Cupid Donner and Blitzen Santa was singing As Jane turned around And down through the chimney He came with a bound He was dressed all in red From his head to his foot And his garments were covered With ashes and soot Back to the house Came Jane in a dash Followed by Julie Who flew like a flash As Santa was filling The stockings with toys He could hear the two children Making some noise With a wink of his eye And a nod on his head Santa told Julie To go back to bed But Julie said No! Im staying up tonight I want to see Rudolph With his shining red light So Santa called Rudolph With his nose so bright Come to the Cartanos For Christmas tonight And Rudolph pranced in From the pouring rain Kissing and licking Julie and Jane And Santa and Rudolph And Julie and Jane Danced until two And played Christmas games Before Santa left He hugged Julie tight Merry Christmas to all And to all a goodnight . |
